Last week was the Game Developer’s Conference (GDC). I met a lot of cool games people, went to more parties than should be possible in a week, played a lot of rad indie games, and ended the week by catching the dreaded convention plague. For someone shy like me, GDC takes all of the social interaction with strangers I’d normally have in an entire year and compresses it into a single week. It’s all a bit overwhelming for me, but that’s balanced by how nice it is to really feel like a part of a larger games community.

I love GDC and I look forward to it every year, but there’s always a bit of relief when it’s over and I can go back to quietly making games and comics.
